Even as a child I could understand why all the black people were mad after former LAPD officers Tim Singer, Melanie Singer, Stacey Koon, and at least four others including ones named Briseno, Powell, Solano, and Wind, swarmed Rodney King and beat him senseless. Stacey Koon went to federal prison where I'm sure he was in protective custody the entire time even though he went to low security facilities. I wasn't old enough to understand the riots though and maybe I am still not old enough to understand them. Why would people destroy their own community when they should have been directing their energy at those responsible for their persecution instead of their neighbors?
