Incarcerated 2/24/17. Over two-weeks before needed Rx provided by MCDC Medical Unit. Over two-weeks prescribed medications denied/delayed and I went through withdrawals. They said that they were awaiting pharmacy/prescriber confirmation they'd requested but my pharmacy reported no request had been sent in by Multnomah County Detention Center (jail). Pharmacy confirmed this lack of inquiry by MCDC 2/27/17 and 3/3/17. By third week, some of my medications, which I'd been taking for years, began to trickle in to me but not at the correct dosage. Appears either my pharmacy or my prescriber finally received MCDC request or Probation or my attorney's efforts got it sent in. As of 3/18/17, still the dosage give is less than normal. MCDC gave me an appointment for the week of March 20th sometime to assess my needs then though there's no excuse for their failure to request my meds immediately and certainly by 2/25/17 during early custody and information provided to them. On 2/27/17, while at a Hearing, judge ordered my meds be secured. Later in that week, U. S. Probation Office and U.S. Attorney's office reported having contacted provider of Rx. Finally, I've been given most of my meds but not at correct dosage and not all meds on Rx. My lawyer had to chew them out also, and I think that was what got me what I do have. I tried and am still trying medical requests after medical request form and they still say they are working on it and I've an appointment yet. Not as sick as I was for the first week without any medications. Nobody should have to go through that. Going without legitimate prescribed meds is inexcusable malpractice. The type of malpractice that can cause great harm.
