A deputy was dispatched to the Lone Rock Store shortly after 6 p.m. to take a theft report. After arriving at the store, the deputy was told that a tractor that matched the description of one reported stolen earlier in the day, in the same general area, was passing by the store and going west on Baxter CR 72. The deputy pursued the tractor a short distance and it stopped at 6:49 p.m. Two minutes later, at approximately 6:51 p.m., the deputy shot and killed Troy Jackson, who'd allegedly threatened him with a crossbow.
