An off-duty sheriff's deputy shot and killed a man who charged him with a bat Sunday night in Gila Bend after answering a call about a domestic violence incident. A couple was arguing on a street and the woman's boyfriend allegedly was threatening her with a baseball bat. The deputy was the first to arrive on the scene and the man refused commands to drop the bat. The deputy said the man then charged him in an aggressive manner, and he feared for his life and shot the man once in the chest.
