Edwin C. Bundy was found hiding behind a shower curtain after police arrived in response to a 9-1-1 call about a man entering the apartment where the woman's 15-year-old daughter was found alone. The daughter hid and left the apartment unharmed when police arrived. The mother and police entered the apartment to do a walk-through with police who were unaware that Bundy was still inside. Bundy was shot and killed when he reached for his gun.
