Two officers were trying to locate a man, who witnesses said had been acting erratically, police said. Officers found him in front of the local Sprouts Farmers Market and followed him toward Chompies deli. Police said that the man pulled out a knife and lunged at one of the officers. It wasn't clear whether one or both officers fired their weapons, but he was shot and killed.
