Officer Christopher Morton, 30, was killed and two other officers were injured in a shootout with James Waters, who was shot and killed. Police allegedly responded to a domestic disturbance, but Waters was facing charges for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance, police said. Later, police admitted there was a mix-up, and the 911 call for the disturbance had actually come from Windsor, Missouri, about 20 miles away.
