Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the home of Towns' ex-girlfriend, leading to mile-long foot-chase that ended with Towns laying on the ground, out-of-breath. Two officers began tasering Towns in an attempt to get him up, tasering him 14 times while he was handcuffed. Towns death was ruled a homicide due to the use of Tasers, and the two officers either resigned or were terminated by the police department. Towns' family plans to sue the city and police department.
