Anthony Lee Hodges' girlfriend contacted the Sheriff's Office to report a domestic disturbance. The woman told deputies that Hodges had some mental health issues for which he wasn't taking his medication, and he was acting erratically. The woman also told deputies that Hodges had left the house, was still on the 3-acre property, and could be in possession of a weapon. Deputies tried to make contact with Hodges by calling his cellphone. Shortly after, Hodges came out of a shed on the property and began shooting at deputies. He was shot and killed.
