Around 3:15 a.m., officers were looking for Datwan Lewis after his girlfriend called 9-1-1 to report a domestic violence battery. Police spotted a white sport utility vehicle and pulled over Lewis in a parking lot at St. Johns River State College. Officers approached the driver they saw the man was armed with a handgun. Police shot and killed Lewis when he did not comply with orders to disarm.
