Around 3:30 p.m., police were called to a home after Elray Barber left his family's home intoxicated and carrying a gun. Minutes later, officers attempted to pull the vehicle over as Barber was turning into a Sonic restaurant. Barber was in a parked car with a 55-year-old woman and refused to get out of the vehicle. Negotiations lasted approximately two hours. Barber reportedly made several threats against the woman in his car and officers. Around 5:40 p.m., two officers shot and killed Barber.
