Around 10:30 in the evening Keinonen was exiting the back door of a house that had been the target of a drugs, guns, and vehicle theft investigation earlier in the day. Unarmed and unthreatening, he was fatally shot once in the chest by police. Keinonen and his brother had been arrested earlier in the year for a drug operation said to be county-wide.
