Officers with the Fairview Police Department responded to a disturbance at a home around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Hughes reportedly came outside and confronted the officers armed with a gun. An officer used a stun gun on him, but it didn't work. Hughes allegedly drew his weapon and was shot and killed.
