Around 4:30 p.m., a Kentucky State Police trooper and a Daviess County deputy responded to a report of a person doing doughnuts in a field. Police said when they arrived they found an abandoned black Jeep Cherokee. Police were told the driver ran into a nearby house that wasn't his. KSP says they searched the house and the man ran back to the Jeep and drove off. The man crashed and got out and started running. A trooper caught up with him. Police said the man pulled out a gun and refused to drop it as the trooper demanded, and he was shot and killed.
