About 8 p.m., officers were at the America's Best Value Inn looking for a man with a felony warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Officers saw Rodriguez leave a room with a handgun in his hand. Rodriguez allegedly attempted to hide behind other people and refused to drop the gun and was shot and killed by police.
