Police were called to a chaotic scene around 10 p.m., where there was an officer-involved shooting, police said. The man who was killed was an off-duty Dos Palos police officer Johnny Mathis. Police followed Mathis in a non-patrol car to a home before he crashed the car into a garage. Police withheld details as to why they killed Mathis.
