Three officers saw a truck weaving in and out of traffic around 1:30 a.m. They were all in separate patrol cars when they attempted to pull over Siatu'u Tauai. As the officers got out of the cars, the truck drove over an embankment to get away. The officers later caught up with Tauai. One officer sprayed him with pepper spray, but it didn't incapacitate him. He allegedly drove at officers and was shot and killed.
