Neighbors called police to report that Vaughn was shooting at a street light and in random directions. Vaughan reportedly told a neighbor who tried to speak with him that he wanted police to come and kill him, police said. They shot and killed him during a standoff. Police were acquainted with Vaughan because he'd threatened suicide before.
