Police responded to a report of him being armed with a gun at a local manufacturing warehouse about 11 p.m. Once officers arrived police encountered Robert Allen Elfgen who was shot and killed by a Fort Madison police officer. Police said Elfgen was wanted for a shooting that happened 45 minutes earlier.
