Deputies responded to a home just before midnight after being asked to check on Taylor Schnortz who was cutting himself, police said. The caller reported a man at the residence was bleeding from self-inflicted injuries and was suicidal. Deputies spoke with the armed man for about an hour before he was shot and killed.
