McCray allegedly burglarized a Target, and when police arrived to investigate, he rammed a patrol car, injuring the officer, then preceded to lead police and the state patrol on a high-speed freeway chase. Police and state troopers cornered him at a rest stop. When they got out of their cars to arrest McCray, he attempted to run them over and four officers shot and killed him.
