About 3:43 a.m. officers were called to a home for a burglary in progress. Police received information that three men were seen breaking into the hoone. When the officers arrived, they entered the residence and were confronted by a man with a handgun. Officers Jacob O'Sullivan and Rene Rodriguez shot and killed John Alvarado, and two other men were arrested.
