Police tried stopping a vehicle that was traveling erratically, but the driver led them on a chase that ended around 1:15 a.m., when the vehicle crashed. The officer shot and killed the person, although details as to what precipitated the killing were withheld by police. He was shot by Officer Sam D. Pynenberg of the Fox Valley Metro Police.
