LAPD officers responded to a family disturbance sometime before 5 p.m. When they arrived, the officers made contact with an armed person and shots were fired. Police later said in a tweet that the man was armed with a handgun. The person then fled on foot to nearby homes and into an alley, at which point an officer shot and killed him.
