Police responded to a 911 call. Upon arrival, the husband told them his wife, Krystal Arvizu, was barricaded in a second-story bedroom with a knife and had made comments about killing herself. The door was slightly opened by officers when they saw her holding a ax. The officers called backup, reportedly moving away as they closed the door and were heading back down the stairs when the woman apparently swung the ax striking the door. She then reportedly opened the door and charged at an officer while holding a knife. An officer shot and killed her.
