Police officials said officers approached Sharrell Brown shortly after 3:30 p.m. Police did not immediately disclose the reason the approached Brown. The officers started chasing him, shooting him in a gangway during the second of two confrontations during the pursuit. Police said Brown was shot multiple times after he allegedly pointed a gun at the officers.
