Officers were conducting a welfare check on a tenant after a property manager became concerned the man in the apartment was dead. The manager said it appeared the door had been barricaded and water was running for a while causing damage to the unit below. The manager said they never had an issue with the tenant before. The man wounded an officer with a knife and was shot and killed.
