Officers responded to an alleged road rage incident. The 9-1-1 caller said Piceno wanted to fight multiple people and appeared to be under the influence of a substance. Deputies said Piceno then drove away. Shortly after, an off-duty police officer saw Piceno driving erratically and pulled over to the side of the road to let him pass. Piceno then stopped and pulled up next to the officer and began an argument with the officer. The officer reportedly identified himself to Piceno as police and got out of his car. The officer shot and killed Piceno, although police withheld information as to what precipitated the killing.
