A man was confronted by hotel employees in the lobby of the Embassy Suites around 5 a.m. The man ran from them, going up the stairs to the second floor, where he caught an elevator to the fifth floor. On the fifth floor, police said he tried to break into a hotel room at gunpoint. He was unsuccessful and then took the elevator up to the seventh floor where he was confronted by park police officers. After trying to break into another room, two officers shot and killed him.
