Two officers responded to a Common Cents store for a report of a person with a torch who was apparently changing his tire in the parking lot. Officers arrived and attempted to talk with Shane McVey, but he fled to a residential apartment building, police said. When officers attempted to catch him, they said he displayed a weapon. One officer shot and killed him.
