Deputies responded to a call of a stabbing at a home. The caller said a man had been stabbed and another man ran away from the scene. Deputy Corey Loftis and Charleston Police Department officer Jimmy Woody encountered the man on at the back of a church. Police said the suspect had weapons in both hands and was ignoring instruction from deputies. Officers reportedly attempted to use a stun gun to subdue the man, but were unsuccessful. Deputy Loftis shot and killed him.
