Officers received calls around 11:35 p.m. about a domestic violence situation in an apartment, police said. Officers heard yelling coming from the apartment and heard at least one gunshot. Negotiators were called in and talked with the man for more than three hours. After negotiations stopped at 2:50 a.m., officers heard another gunshot. Police broke into the apartment and shot and killed the man. A woman and some children were taken out of the apartment.
