Police were responding to a report of a robbery at a nearby 99 Cents Only store where the suspect was allegedly putting items into his pockets. An employee confronted the man and that's when police say the suspect threatened the employee with a knife and left the store. Officers were able to obtain a description of the suspect and located a man matching that description a few blocks south of the store. Officers tried to stun the suspect, but police say the suspect covered himself with a blanket before one officer fired at him.
