Officers said that when they responded to a report of a suspicious person, Bauer fled in his car. The car later pulled into the Garden City Police Department parking lot, authorities said. When officers approached Bauer, he allegedly pointed a gun at them. Officers opened fire and Bauer drove into the police building, according to officials.
