Ravono was taken to Marin General Hospital's emergency department by a friend because he was acting erratically, police said. When Ravono left the hospital, hospital staff notified the Marin County Sheriff's Office. The Central Marin Police Authority found Ravono in the area of South Eliseo Drive. Ravono resisted the police officers and sheriff's deputies. He was handcuffed, placed in custody, and taken to the Psychiatric Emergency Services. He continued to fight until he became unresponsive and died.
