Sanchez was being sought in connection with robberies in Colorado Springs, police said. Pueblo police assisted the Department of Corrections Fugitive Unit search for him. Police said Sanchez led an officer on a brief foot chase to a field behind a home. He turned and pointed a handgun at the officer, who shot and killed him.
