Police received a report of a suspicious driver on I-49 north of Harrisonville. A caller said the driver had caused several wrecks on the highway. When a deputy tried to stop the driver, the man sped off. Police said an officer from the Peculiar Police Department deployed stop sticks and the driver stopped just north of Highway J on I-49. There was a struggle when the deputy tried to arrest him and the man was shot and killed.
