Lockhart police said they were called to backup Caldwell County deputies looking for a suspect involved in a burglary. A deputy on the scene was flagged down by the initial complainant who had located the suspect near the Dairy Queen directly behind the burglary victim's home. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office says the deputy told other officers on the scene the suspect had a shovel. He was shot and killed.
