Officers responded to a report of “unknown trouble." The call was subsequently upgraded to a report of a hot-prowl burglary and later to an assault with a deadly weapon. The officers arrived to find a male victim suffering from a stab wound. As they attempted to render aid and called for an ambulance, they were directed to a man who was armed with a knife, police said. He was subsequently shot and killed after "confronting" them.
