The sheriff said the deputy was on routine patrol when he encountered two occupants in a pickup with a license plate registered to another vehicle. The deputy learned an outstanding warrant was issued for the woman.The deputy attempted to take the woman into custody when the pickup sped down Lee Road 443, also known as Stafford Road. After a short chase and the vehicle stopped, the deputy again tried to take the woman into custody. Police said she tried to run the deputy down, and he shot and killed her.
