Reno police were called to a multiple-vehicle chain reaction. Witnesses told officers about a man who had been involved in the crash who was holding a knife to his throat, and another person reportedly trying to disarm him. Police say officers found 38-year-old Sergio Alvarado-Morales with the knife and talked to him, trying to get him to put it down. They then used a Taser to subdue him, and when that didn't work, he and officers fought, and he was shot and killed. Peculiarly, a witness claimed he pulled a gun.
