Officers were dispatched about 2:15 p.m. Saturday to a home in the 1800 block of Courtney Terrace on a report of burglary, said Los Angeles police officer Rosario Herrera of the Media Relations Section. That street is in Nichols Canyon, a street just east of Laurel Canyon, and the shooting was about two blocks north of Hollywood Boulevard. “The resident confronted the suspect and the suspect fled,” Herrera said. A perimeter was set up and around 3:30 p.m. Saturday the suspect emerged from the perimeter with a pellet gun. The suspect encountered two officers, she said, and an officer-involved shooting occurred.
