Mardis was a passenger in a car driven by his father, Chris Few. Initial reports suggested that Few had backed his car into officers' vehicles while officers were trying to serve a warrant, but officials now say there is no evidence of a warrant for Few, who was unarmed and was also struck but is reportedly in stable condition. Two officers involved in the shooting, Norris Greenhouse Jr and Derrick Stafford, have been charged with second-degree murder.
