US Marshals Service members approached Dehart, who was wanted for attempted murder and other charges, when he fled in car, police said. Officers from the Marshals Service and the Oregon State Police pursued Dehart for 17 miles, during which Dehart shot at officers from his car, according to authorities. Officers who were alerted shot and killed Dehart as he approached, police said. Authorities have not identified the agency that shot him.
