Authorities received reports of an attempted carjacking. An officer who was in the area went to the intersection and saw Faison who fit the description of the suspected carjacker. The officer followed Faison while he waited for backup and when another officer joined him, they approached the Faison. The latter fired on both officers with a handgun and the officers fired back, hitting the man. Faison was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
