Deputies responded to a call about an aggravated assault after Marshall, armed, threatened a group that included his ex-girlfriend. Deputies went to Marshall's home to ask him about the incident. He pointed a semiautomatic pistol at the deputies. Deputy Justin McLin fatally shot him.
