Baltimore City police say 40-year-old Shawn Dean was pulled over for running through a stop sign. “When an officer on the driver side stepped away from the car, the suspect started the vehicle and drove off,” said Commissioner Anthony Batts, Baltimore City Police Department.Baltimore City police say the officer was dragged from Mannasota and Dudley Avenue two blocks away to Shannon Drive. The suspect's vehicle actually jumped the curb after he was shot.
