Police report that they followed a suspicious car and attempted to pull it over. They say the driver appeared to reach under his seat as if producing a weapon, then drove off firing a gun at them. He led them on a chase, firing at them, until the car crashed. The driver and passenger Stephanie Adams, 39, fled on foot. The man was shot and killed by Ofcrs. R. Rivas, C. Frazzini, V. Zaunbrecher and R. Gilchrest. The man's name may be Jerry Barnes.
