A state trooper pulled Edwards over for speeding on I-91 after midnight. A physical struggle developed between the two in which the driver was shot. The driver then attempted to escape but got only .2 miles until crashing into a protective barrier. He subsequently died of his injuries, and was found to have two handguns in the vehicle.
