Officers responded to a 911 report of a violent domestive dispute. A woman reported that her intoxicated boyfriend was refusing to leave her apartment. Officers entered the garage of her home and encountered Sulkowski, who displayed a knife and approached the officer. Sulkowski did not comply with officers asking him to drop the knife, and the officer stepped out of the garage. Sulkowski continued to move toward the officer while the officer moved back, for around 500 feet. Eventually, the officer fired his weapon, striking Sulkowski.
